Magic Live Conference

I recently attended a huge conference for magicians hosted by Magic Magazine. It is called Magic Live, and around 1,000 magicians attend. This year it was held in Las Vegas!

During the conference, I had the opportunity to meet several magician celebrities (see below).

There was a huge magic shop area, so of course I updated my show by purchasing several new illusions! Additionally, talking to other magicians was a great way to get new ideas and feedback. Overall, it was a fun time and a fantastic learning experience.

During the last night of the convention, my wife and I attended the International Film Festival. I was anxious to see how the audience would react to my submission. I love making movies, and I had submitted a short film I wrote and directed called “The Magician’s Wife.” Thankfully it was well received, and I won the Best Picture Award!!!

I’m excited to announce that my short film, The Magician’s Wife, won the Magic Magazine International Film Festival. The event took place in Las Vegas during the Magic Live conference. A special thank you to my wife and all the cast and crew who helped make this possible! Magic Magazine will hopefully put the movie online soon – stay tuned.

Yesterday I performed a show with the incredibly funny and talented Karl Bastian (http://kidologist.com/). To promote the event, I jumped out of bed at 4am for an early live appearance at the local news station. I did a card trick, however I had some difficulty finding the card – or did I? 2010 BSA Jamboree

This week I performed at the 2010 Boy Scouts of America National Jamboree. I’m an Eagle Scout myself, so it was great to experience the fun of scouting again – especially since this event only happens every 4 years. My performances were sponsored by Trails End Popcorn (which is super delicious by the way), and the shows were a big hit! It was a fun time, and I got to premiere a hilarious new illusion.
